Iron Horse Trail Gravel Ride

August 22, 8am, Iron Horse Trail starting at Cedar Falls Trailhead, 40 miles, 1600 feet, Difficult

Meet at 8am at Bethany Green Lake to carpool or meet at Cedar Falls trailhead at 9am
Plan for an eight-hour day including drive time and ride time
Money for gas if carpooling, Discover Pass required to Park at Cedar Falls Trailhead, or free parking at Rattlesnake Lake

This trip offers the opportunity to ride through the scenic Snoqualmie corridor, passing through lush forests, crossing beautiful trestle bridges, and ending with a 2 mile crossing of a railroad tunnel (bring a light!).

Be sure to bring plenty of snacks and 1 - 2 liters of water, if possible, since spigots are limited along the trail (we'll have a filter to fill up from a stream in case of emergency). Also BRING A LIGHT SOURCE - the Snoqualmie Tunnel is 2 miles long with a gentle bend, making it pitch black near the middle (exhilarating!) . Bring a bike-mounted light (or at least a headlamp) to illuminate your way through the tunnel (check to make sure it's charged!).
