Discovery Park Birdwatching

August 2, 12pm, Discovery Park Loop, 4.4 miles, 400-470ft Elevation Gain, Easy

Are your binoculars at hand to spot an American Goldfinch? Or, are your ears on alert for a Wilson's Warbler? Are you looking to explore nature and also learn about God's true nature?

For new and seasoned birders alike, get ready for an afternoon of discovery in Discovery Park! Learn more about the character of God while delighting in the 270 species of birds in the area.

We'll begin at Bethany Community Church Green Lake to check gear before carpooling to the park. After a couple hours of birding fun, we plan to return to Bethany around 4pm. Note: Discovery Park does have bathrooms near parking and the beach (beginning, middle, and end of hike).

For our birding adventure, make sure to bring walking shoes, water, and a lunch/snacks. Optional gear includes a picnic blanket, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, and binoculars. Non-cotton clothing is recommended.
