The Last Snowshoe of 2024! - Commonwealth Basin
December 31, 7am–4pm-ish, Commonwealth Basin, Moderate, 5 miles roundtrip, 1,200 ft elevation gain; nice, well-used trail with some occasional "fun" terrain
Meet at 7am at Bethany Community Church Green Lake
Our annual New Year's Eve snowshoe is happening again! Start your New Year's celebration right with a moderate level snowshoe through Commonwealth Basin at Snoqualmie Pass. After some climbing at the start to get your heart going and your body warm, we'll travel into the basin on mostly flat(ish) terrain and experience the winter forest while surrounded by towering peaks. We'll stop for a hearty lunch, talk about the past year, what's ahead in our lives for next year, and head back to our New Year's Eve plans.
Parking at Snoqualmie ski area is now $55/car :(
We'll do our best to leave early and carpool but be prepared to contribute up to $15 or so for parking. If we're lucky, someone will have a ski pass or you can find free parking on the road and it will be a non-issue. In addition, be prepared to contribute about $5 or so for gas.
Please review the gear list on the registration. Let us know if you need to borrow snowshoes, poles, warm clothes, or any other gear and we can likely get it from our gear closet.
Plan subject to change based on weather, avalanche, and/or road conditions. Whatever happens though, we'll do our best to get you outside!
Refunds available on request if you need to cancel.
