Overview:
We are two professional gals (early 30’s) looking to fill an available room in our three-bedroom townhome in Northeast Green Lake. The available room is approximately 150 sq. ft, located on the ground floor.
The Room:
• A private first-floor bedroom with window, closet, and sliding glass door onto a fenced in patio. The room climate controlled, stays cool in the summer and has a electric wall heating unit for the winter. The bedroom can fit a queen-sized bed with a nightstand, and bookshelf.
• Room will be unfurnished.
The Home:
• Three-floor, three-bedroom, two-bathroom townhome.
• The first floor has a bedroom, a medium-sized yard accessed through the bedroom, a garage, and washer/dryer.
• The one-car garage is currently shared for storage by all three roommates.
• The main floor has a spacious living room with beautiful windows, an electric fireplace, large, shared TV, dining area, kitchen, small balcony and a bathroom primarily belonging to the downstairs roommate though shared by guests.
• The third floor has the two remaining bedrooms, a shared bath, and a storage closet
• Central heating, no AC.
• Managed by Apple Property Management, who is fair and easy to deal with.
The Location:
• Located in Northeast Green Lake, near Retreat. Two blocks from the lake!
• Groceries: Ample options in walking and short driving distance (PCC, Whole Foods, Safeway and Trader Joes are closest).
• Transit: Two blocks from the Green Lake Park and Ride, and a 10-15 min walk from the Roosevelt Light Rail Station.
• Parking: Street parking. You can park on our street about 85% of the time. If it’s full, there’s parking within a one block radius virtually 100% of the time.
The Current Roommates:
• Mary (third floor bedroom) is 33, works in the travel industry, and loves gymnastics, bouldering, traveling the world, true crime podcasts and documentaries, and doing puzzles and paint by numbers. Mary works from home 4 days per week but works exclusively in her bedroom.
• Kait (other third floor roommate) is in her early thirties, and enjoys outdoor activities, getting crafty, and being involved at her Christian church. Kait works from home ~2 days a week.
Finances and Timing:
• This is a one-year, shared lease that runs Sep 1, 2025, through Aug 31, 2026. All three roommates sign the lease with our property management company.
• Rent is $1050 per month.
• Upon lease signing, the first month’s rent is due plus a security deposit equal to an additional month’s rent. A rental application and credit check must be completed for our property management company.
• Utilities are split equally by all roommates. That includes electric, internet (Comcast) and water/sewer/gas. Utilities average about $100 per roommate per month.
• We take turns buying shared household supplies (paper towels, dishwasher liquid, trash and compost bags, and toilet paper).
House Rules and What We’re Looking For:
• We are kind, courteous, friendly and easy-going, and seeking the same.
• We smile, say hello, and enjoy a kitchen chat or a living room hang/TV sesh.
• We have a weekly rotating chore chart for the main floor (kitchen and living room), meaning each roommate is responsible for a “deep clean” of these areas every three weeks. The upstairs roommates alternate cleaning the bathroom either weekly or biweekly.
• We are clean and tidy. We don’t leave dirty dishes in the sink and are proactive about cleaning up after ourselves in our shared main floor.
• We prefer our home to be a calm space where we can hang out. Each of us has guests over in the common area about 1-2x a month, but we try to plan social time outside of the house first. Overnight guests are rare.
• Our ideal roommate is late 20’s or older
• Non-smoking/drugs/marijuana
• PETS: One roommate is planning on getting a cat, no dogs.
