MRJR Pilgrimage: Licton Springs Aug 2024

MRJR Pilgrimage: Licton Springs | Sunday, August 25, 2-4pm | Bethany Green Lake

MRJR Pilgrimage is an experience that expands our understanding of our neighborhoods through the story and perspective of indigenous and marginalized communities so that we will be curious about God’s work of justice and reconciliation in our racial/cultural/ethnic context.

Join to learn, to pray, and to take next steps together. Licton Springs is a site that holds cultural significance to Coast Salish peoples across the Puget Sound region since time immemorial, and that is within walking distance of Bethany Green Lake. Pastor Phil Maulding will share things he has learned about the springs, the land, and the people through relationship with the Duwamish and from a personal call to connect with the story of the indigenous communities of this area.

We will:

  • Meet on the patio outside Green Lake's sanctuary building at 2pm
  • Travel together to the NW corner of Licton Springs Park - 9536 Ashworth Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103, a 22 minute walk of about 1.1 mi
  • Spend some guided and open time at the park
  • Return together to Bethany Green Lake by 4pm
