Camping at Lake Wenatchee

July 7–10, Lake Wenatchee State Park, $60, Difficulty: Easy to Moderate

Come enjoy a classic summer camping experience at Lake Wenatchee State Park, surrounded by alpine peaks, fragrant pine forests, and the cool, clear waters of a glacier-fed lake. We’ve reserved multiple adjacent campsites giving our group easy access to all the park has to offer—hot showers, clean restrooms, picnic areas, and bike-friendly paths. Campers can explore hiking trails right from the campground, swim in the lake, or rent kayaks and stand-up paddleboards for an unforgettable day on the water. Read more about the park and its amenities here.

We’ll kick things off the afternoon of Monday, July 7, with two full days of adventures to follow. Bethany Wilderness Ministry leaders will guide group hikes to Merritt Lake, Icicle Gorge, and the iconic Lake Colchuck. We’ll also host a group stand-up paddleboard event on Lake Wenatchee, with plenty of time in between for rest, play, or your own personal exploration of this beautiful area. No matter what speed you go, there will be plenty to do that fits all abilities and interests. Families and kids are welcome too!

On the last day of camp, Thursday July 10, after we break camp, we will lead a day trip to Leavenworth for those who want to linger a while longer away from the city.

Logistically, we will be sharing up to 3 campsites all in close proximity, which can host 8 people per site. This does mean that we will be sharing tents with a max 2 per site. We plan to have spacious tents and will work with all participants to ensure everyone's needs are met. Also, vans and camper vehicles are allowed. Send an email to samuel.mann@pm.me if you have questions. We also will coordinate carpooling to and from Lake Wenatchee, so don't worry if you don't have a car!

Each evening, BWM leaders will prepare and serve dinner for the group. Campers are encouraged to bring their own breakfast and lunch supplies. We’ll share meals together at our campsites, then gather around the fire for fellowship, s’mores, and the chance to sing worship songs under the stars. Whether you’re new to camping or a seasoned explorer, this will be a time to grow in community, encounter God in His creation, and create summer memories to last a lifetime.
