Discussion Questions
Before questions, attempt to give the group a bit of a summary of the main points of the sermon and then choose a few questions that fit your group’s needs and style. We don’t intend for you to use all of these. Three to five questions may be a good number.
Begin by reading Mark 16:9–20 aloud, taking turns reading the verses.
What sticks out to you from this passage?
Who are some of the characters in this passage?
What’s a glimpse of newness that you’ve seen in your life and your community?
A new depth: how has your understanding or embodiment of the resurrection developed?
Where in your life is it difficult for the hope to break through? What could it look like for the resurrection to reach those depths, those areas? Imagine.
During this season, where does your belief need help? Mark 9:24
Snakes and poison - what does engagement look like for you when you hear words of Jesus that don’t make sense?
Loving action taken in Jesus’ name is not a small gesture, it’s the essence of resurrection power. What can loving action taken in Jesus’ name look like for you this week? What are two ways you can lean into this resurrection power?
Same breath - believe and go. There is no hesitation between the two. What can “believe and go” look like for you this season?
Where do you feel more dissonance, “believe” or “go?” Share about this.
How are you being invited to take one step into God’s story?
