Following the Way of Christ: The Gospel of Mark: Easter Happens! What's Next?
Mark 16:1-11
Richard Dahlstrom, Senior Teaching Pastor, www.spiritsoulbody.org
The Easter story in the Gospel of Mark reveals three different responses to the death and resurrection of Christ. All of us can identify with one or more, and are always invited to move!
Some drop out (Mark 16:10,11)
Some Stay in the Story (Mark 16:1-3)
Some go the distance (Mark 16:9,10)

Discussion Questions
Before questions, attempt to give the group a bit of a summary of the main points of the sermon and then choose a few questions that fit your group’s needs and style. We don’t intend for you to use all of these. Three to five questions may be a good number.
Begin by reading Mark 16:1-11 aloud, taking turns reading the passage.
Pray over the group before beginning discussion.
What “avalanches” are you fearing/facing? What tools do you have/ need to face them?
Where are you in the story: Dropping out? Staying the story: seen things but staying quiet? Going the distance?
Where are you seeing hope and signs of resurrection in your life? Where would you like to see hope emerge in your life? In other words, what is a source of discouragement for dashed hope that you’d like to see change?
Are you in the game out of ideology or out of love? How do this concept land with you? Does it make sense?
Is it easy or challenging for you to see God at work in the world/in your own life? Where do you look?
Where do you feel called to serve/use your gifts?
How do you reconcile Jesus’ love of everyone with the truth that Jesus also invites change in our lives?
What scriptures/stories come to mind of Jesus both loving people as they are and asking them to live differently?
Who might God be calling you to bless in your life in the coming days?
