1. What's been your view of work? Do you like it? Have you thought of it as part of God's plan for us or a result of sin entering the world?
2. Read Genesis1:26, 28; 2:5, 15. What do these verses tell us about God's intentions for humanity with respect to work?
3. What have you assumed people were created to do? Do these verses change your perspective?
4. Read Genesis 3:17–19. How does work change when sin enters the world?
5. Read Gen 1:26–27. We are created in God's image. What does this mean?
6. How is God's act of creation described in scripture? (Gen 2:2–3)
7. If we are images of God, created to work, and if God works, our work is part of the way we image God. Does that shape the way you see the importance of your work? If so, how?
8. We are not created only for work. What else are we created for? How does this balance with our work?
9. Think about your job. Consider the following questions with your jobs in mind:
10. Why does your work matter? What would the world look like without your work?
11. What does it mean for you to do your work well? Is your work something you are accustomed to caring about?
12. What does it mean for you to do your work in a way that pleases God?
