The 2020 Advent Devotional was created in tandem with a special Advent Box containing materials to complete each activity/practice at the beginning of the week. However, if you did not receive a box, most of the activities can be recreated with items from around your house or neighborhood! We look forward to celebrating this season of hope and expectation with you—share your photos on social media and tag us along the way @bethanygreenlake!

Discussion Questions
Before questions, attempt to give the group a bit of a summary of the main points of the sermon and then choose a few questions that fit your group’s needs and style. We don’t intend for you to use all of these. Three to five questions may be a good number.

Where do you most clearly see a need for the Holy Spirit to work in our world today?

Is the presence of the Holy Spirit in our world something that you’ve regularly seen or experienced?

Look at Acts 2:1-13. What stands out to you most from this narrative? Where do you see the empowering and uniting work of the Spirit here?

Richard talked about the Holy Spirit providing “whatever you need.” What do you need right now?

What comes to mind when you think of the Holy Spirit? What images, or words, or experiences?

What area of your life do you want to be more open to letting God work in you through the Holy Spirit?

Read Acts 2:14-21.

How would you summarize Peter’s sermon?

What part of the sermon most resonates with you?

Spend some time asking for the freedom, guidance, and filling of the Holy Spirit in your lives.
