For Parents - How to Talk to Kids about Fear

Sunday Family Worship Devotionals

As we as a church continue to keep up to date with guidelines from the King County Public Health Department, we wanted to give families resources for Sunday worship at home. You can watch the live stream of the service here.

How to Talk to Your Kids About Fear

In a time where we as adults are dealing with a lot of uncertainty and unknowns, it’s hard to know just where to start when communicating with our kids as we face the reality of a coronavirus outbreak. There are a few key ways of starting a conversation with your child about coronavirus.

For Parents - How to Talk to Kids about Fear

Children are a welcome and integral part of our community at Bethany West Seattle! The nursery is open beginning at 9:30am. Two-year-olds through Elementary-age children join the adult service for the beginning portion of worship and are then dismissed to their classes to engage in faith-forming, developmentally appropriate content and activities.

The following Children's Ministry classes are available at our 9:30am service on Sundays:

  • Nursery (0–24 months)
  • Toddlers (2–3 years)
  • Preschool (4–5 years)
  •  Lower Elementary (K-2nd)
  • Upper Elementary (3rd-5th)

If you feel your child is better suited to a class different than his or her age group, please see the Family Ministry staff on Sunday morning–we're happy to work with you and your family!

Questions?

Keeping Kids Safe

At Bethany West Seattle, keeping kids safe is of utmost importance to us. Because of this, we ask you to register at our family registration website. On Sunday mornings, we have computers available where you can check your children in when you arrive, and you'll receive a guardian tag that's required for pick up.

Food Allergies and Potty Training

If your child has any allergies or potty training needs, please inform us on the family registration page.

Volunteer Screening

We screen each of our volunteers through a written application, a personal interview, and a national background check to ensure the highest quality care for your children.

Classroom Rules for Keeping Kids Safe

Our classroom policy states there will ALWAYS be two unrelated adults in the room (a classroom will not be open unless this criteria is met). We also subscribe to this ratio for bathroom visits and only use restrooms contained within the children ministry classrooms. If your child needs assistance in the restroom, the door will be left open.
