John 2
Richard Dahlstrom, Senior Pastor, stepbystepjourney.com
Jesus is revealed as the king who transforms both the mundane, and tragic into not just blessing, but capacity to bless! This is revealed in a “three act play”.
Act I: the problem – “running empty”
Act II: the dialogue
Act III: the solution

1. What does it mean that Jesus is the “Christ”? Why is this significant?
2. What is the significance of running out of wine?
3. When have you felt you lost your capacity to bless because you were empty? Whether it be financially, physically, emotionally, vocationally?
4. Does anyone feel like they are “running on empty” today?
5. Are there ways you see our larger culture “running on empty”? The church?
6. What season do you feel like you’re in? The grape? Being crushed? The wine?
7. What ceremonies in your life need to be filled with Christ’s presence?
8. Consider the saying, “transformation comes from response to revelation.” How does this connect to the story in John 2? (Also See James 1:22.)
9. Is there a particular step of obedience that God is calling you to take?
