  • When have you longed for light?  
  • When have you longed for darkness to remain?
  • Can you think of a time when light made something look completely different than what you imagined?
  • How do you relate darkness to fear? What other emotions do you ascribe to darkness?
  • Read Isaiah 60:1-3. How is light described? What are the results of light in this passage? Where do you find yourself in this passage?
  • In John 8:42, Jesus declares HImself as the Light of the World. What is different about a Person being light as opposed to a tradition, a habit, an icon?
  • When have you experienced Jesus as the Light?  
  • When have you been led by a false light? How did you realize it was false?
  • Are there false lights in your life now that block you from seeing Jesus as the true Light?
  • What sources of comfort, direction, and security do you need to let go of in order to follow Jesus whole-heartedly? Who can you ask to hold you accountable in this?
