The 2020 Advent Devotional was created in tandem with a special Advent Box containing materials to complete each activity/practice at the beginning of the week. However, if you did not receive a box, most of the activities can be recreated with items from around your house or neighborhood! We look forward to celebrating this season of hope and expectation with you—share your photos on social media and tag us along the way @bethanygreenlake!

· Can you think of a time that you have judged someone based on what you see, only to discover later that there were defining circumstances beyond their control that got them to where they were?
· Have you ever felt judged by someone because they didn’t know the whole story?
· What role do grace and humility play in seeing the other as made in the image of God?
· Are there people who you tolerate sharing your context with – your workplace, your neighborhood, your city – that make you uncomfortable and whom you certainly don’t want to interact with?
· Who are you ignoring in your context? Why?
· Who in your life knows how to love lavishly? What have you seen in them?
· When have you found an expression of love for Christ to seem inappropriate or, perhaps, over-emotional? What values are reflected in your assessment?
· When have you felt restricted in your expression of worship because of the people around you?
· When has your love for someone cost you the friendship of others? Was it worth it?
· When has God met you in your suffering? How did that shape your faith in and worship of God?
· When has God met you in the beauty of the world? How has that shaped your faith and worship?
· What do you need to let go of in order to live more freely and fully in worship of God?
