Scripture read: John 15:1-8
1. As the John passage reminds us, we're called to intimacy with Christ through connection to his good vine. How is this different than being called to bear good fruit?
2. How does focusing on intimacy with Christ rather than creating fruit fit into your understanding of how you live out your faith? Does it confirm what you already think, feel, & do or go against it? Why or why not?
3. What is the fruit of our relationship with Christ? What are some ways you've seen this in your own life or the lives of others?
4. Richard reminded us repeatedly that we have only to receive Christ & the fruit will be borne; what are a list of ways that we receive Christ? Is there one of those ways that you identify with most?
5. God wants an unrestricted pipeline to our hearts & yet it's one of the first things to go & be replaced by other loves. Why do you think that is? When you're leaning toward another love, what's one of the things that's going on for you?
6. What's one thing that's growing seeds in your heart that's "God plus" & not God alone? Is there something that you'd like to give to name & give to Christ?
