The 2020 Advent Devotional was created in tandem with a special Advent Box containing materials to complete each activity/practice at the beginning of the week. However, if you did not receive a box, most of the activities can be recreated with items from around your house or neighborhood! We look forward to celebrating this season of hope and expectation with you—share your photos on social media and tag us along the way @bethanygreenlake!

Free to Feast
Ephesians 2:14, Hebrews 13, Romans 12, Luke 10
Kendy Easley, keasly@churchbcc.org, Executive Pastor/Head of Staff

Jesus is a living portrait of the love of God. Yet, Christ followers and the Church are seen as judgmental, promoting an “us/them” mentality. All of us are invited to the table today, realizing that Jesus reconciles us to God and to each other.

     I. Humanity is bent and broken

II. Jesus loves, liberates, and lifts

     III. Welcome to the feast

Read Ephesians 2:13-20

1. “Barriers of hostility" is a big theme in the sermon--what are some barriers that you currently see or interact with in our society today?

2. Pastor Kendy mentioned that it seems to be human nature to gravitate towards those who are similar to us while distancing ourselves from those who are different AKA putting up fences. How do you see this in your life, even in small ways?

3. A quote was read mentioning being a source of light in our lives- where would you like to be known for being a source of light?

4. In response to the theme of FEAST Pastor Kendy invited us to schedule/participate in a feast this week, whether big or small, spectacularly huge or specifically meaningful to us. If you were to do that this week what could it look like?
