Local Outreach at Bethany North

Local Outreach at Bethany North exists to shine a light into our community by meeting people in their places of need and walking with them toward mutual growth and healing. These ministries seek to encourage and inspire our church members to a lifestyle of sharing God’s love in their everyday lives and to build bridges between the social and cultural divides in our community.

SHORELINE YOUNG LIFE

Bethany North partners with Shoreline Young Life to reach youth in our community, through pizza lunches and All City Clubs at the Junction. Visit shoreline-younglife.org for more information.

VISION HOUSE

Vision House is a Christian social service agency that provides life-changing transitional housing, support services, and child care to help break the cycle of homelessness for families with children who are experiencing homelessness, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, family status, sexual preference, or physical or mental disability. Bethany North in addition to financial support, we provide the children with Christmas presents that are donated through our annual Giving Tree. WORLD RELIEF SEATTLE

World Relief Seattle empowers the local Church to come alongside refugees and immigrants throughout the Puget Sound region. It provides resettlement, employment, language, and legal services to help our newest neighbors work towards self-sufficiency. Find volunteer opportunities at worldreliefseattle.org.

In accordance with its mission for refugees and immigrants to be welcomed by the community, rooted in community, and empowered by the community, BCC has partnered with WRS to form Good Neighbor Teams (see video below). These teams of lay volunteers from different BCC locations are equipped and invited to walk alongside a refugee or Asylee family through the initial six-month resettlement process. Our aim is to nurture relationships with families and individuals that are lasting, promote human flourishing, and are mutually transformative. Email Nathan Nelson for info on the next Good Neighbor Teams.
