Bethany At The Zoo

All are invited to participate in our second annual worship at the Woodland Park Zoo on Sep 17! Last year we gathered with over 2,000 people in attendance, and it was such a beautiful time of connection and praise together. Join us for a fun-filled day of worship, activities in the meadow (with popcorn!), and exploring the zoo. Kids will get activity bags, and there will be a special animal encounter on stage for all (last year was a raptor!). Pack a picnic, bring a blanket, and spend the day with friends at this iconic Seattle venue. This is a chance for our whole church to worship together and a great time to bring friends who maybe don’t feel comfortable with church yet.

Be sure to register, as it is required to get your free zoo admission and parking code!

Upon registration, you will receive free admission for the entire day at the Woodland Park Zoo. *If you are a zoo member, please note that on your registration, as this saves on our cost!

We recommend entering the Zoo from the West Gate, as this is closest to the North Meadow. Upon arrival, mention you are with Bethany Community Church for free admission. Our worship service will be held in the North Meadow. When you make your way to the meadow gates, you will be given a wristband to wear for the day. This allows you to leave and re-enter the Zoo between the hours of 9:30am-4:00pm.

You are welcome to explore Woodland Park Zoo as soon as the gates open at 9:30am. The gates of the North Meadow will open at 10:30am, and worship starts at 11am. Be sure to arrive at the North Meadow at 10:30 to set out your blanket or grab a chair!

Use the complimentary parking code (1750) at any of the Woodland Park Zoo parking kiosks (code does not work on the PaybyPhone app!). We recommend parking in the Penguin, Otter, or Bear lots, as they are closest to the North Meadow. Free street parking is also available.
Guests with a state disability placard or license plate may park in the designated area in selected parking lots on a first-come, first-served basis. The closest lot to the concert venue is the Penguin Lot at Phinney Ave. N. and N. 55th St.

Our hope is that Bethany at the Zoo is a fun-filled day at this iconic Seattle location. Below is what you can expect.

  • 9:30am: Gates open. All are welcome to explore the zoo early - just don’t forget to come to the meadow for worship!
  • 10:30am: The North Meadow gates open. Look for Bethany volunteers and make your way to the North Meadow for worship. Set up your blanket or a low back chair, or find one of the chairs provided.
  • 11am: Worship starts! We will have a time of singing, an engaging presentation for kids, and a short, inspiring message about the hope of Christ.
  • 12:30-1:30pm: Meadow Mingle & Picnic After the service, stick around for a Meadow Mingle time to socialize around games, crafts, popcorn, a special animal encounter, and more! You are encouraged to bring your own blanket and picnic lunch with family and friends.
  • 1:30pm: Find a friend and explore the Woodland Park Zoo. Be sure to grab a Bingo card in the meadow to take with you as you explore. There will be prizes!

The specific measurements for a chair to qualify as low-back: approximately 9 inches from the ground to the seat and no more than 26 inches from the top of the chair to the ground.
