Discipleship

To learn who Jesus is and who we are in light of all that He has done for us on the cross.
Evangelism: To be passionate about sharing the awesome news of Jesus's everlasting love for us.

Service

To love others by serving with enthusiasm and imagination, both within our church congregation and in our local community.

Worship

To learn what it's like to live our lives as daily worship to God, honoring His glory and grace in all we do, not only through music and singing.

Pizza and Theology

Wednesdays: May 10, 17, 24, 6:15–8:15pm

Most have heard of the new plan for our programming in 2017. We are moving all Veritas programming to Sunday nights, but we still want to have Wednesday nights be used in a meaningful way. So we came up with Pizza and Theology! These sessions will be a great way for students to dive deeper into their faith and other important topics. The first block on March 8, 15 and 22 will focus on racial reconciliation and justice. The second block on May 10, 17 and 24 on the meaning and implications of creed. These sessions will be open to students 6th–12th grade. We are excited for this to be a new part of our youth ministry and hope our students will be excited about it as well!

FAQ for New Families

How long has the pastor of student ministries worked with kids?

Nick Steinloski, our Pastor of Student Ministries, has been working with students for over 20 years. He has four daughters of his own; the eldest is now entering his program.

What is the mission or purpose of youth ministry at Bethany?

Veritas exists to reach students, equip them in their faith, and send them to reach their communities.

How do I know I can trust my kids with the youth leaders?

Each of our youth leaders have had extensive training, and many have led for years. We also run background checks, require a application with references, and conduct interviews with everyone.

How do I stay informed with what's going on?

Sign up for Pastor Nick's weekly emails about what to expect at youth group, what your kids will be learning, and how you can talk to them. He also shares information about the leaders who are involved and upcoming events. You can also visit the Veritas website for more info.

How do you partner with parents?

We don't see ourselves as simply a youth ministry but rather as a family ministry. We desire to see families grow in faith and community, and we hope parents will see this as a tool to help them develop their students in both life and faith.

If I had to choose one thing for my kids to fit in their schedule, what do you suggest?

Time to spend with God is the most valuable thing often missing from a teen's life. Whether your child is in community learning about Jesus or with family reading the Bible and applying its lessons, making God a priority is paramount.
