How long have you been working at Bethany, and what is it that you do here?
I’m the Senior Pastor, and began my work here at Bethany in December of 1995, though I attended here as a college student.

What relevant education or work experience has prepared you for your position? Any published work?
I have a Master of Divinity from Talbot Seminary, and was an International Field Representative and Bible Teacher for Torchbearers Missionary Fellowship. I’m also the author of O2: Breathing New Life into Faith.

Tell us about your other hobbies, and about your family.
I enjoy skiing, rock climbing, writing, hiking, and reading. My wife is incredible. Donna balances work, parenting, blessing people at Bethany through her gifts of encouragement, and keeping me happy (which is no small task), and she does it all with such grace and humor that when I’m not in awe, I’m doubled over laughing. We’ve been married 27 years. We have three children, all of whom are using their gifts and talents to contribute to life at Bethany.

What famous person are you most likely to be mistaken for?

Barack Obama – we’re both left-handed, ENFPs (it’s a psychological profile), and think the American healthcare system needs fixing. On, the other hand, he’s a Democrat, and I’m…independent.
