How long have you been working at Bethany, and what is it you do here?
My official title has changed multiple times since I started in September 2003 as a College Intern, but it’s currently Pastor of College & Career.
What relevant education or work experience prepared you for your position?
I’d like to think that every day of my existence is relevant and experiential, but they gave me official paperwork for attending Western Washington University where I got my BA in Psychology; I’m currently attending Fuller Theological Seminary where I’m working on my Masters of Divinity.
What non-BCC things are you involved with in the community?
Between working full time and going to school, I don’t have a whole lot of free time at the moment; however, I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer at a couple of road races this year. They’ve been a lot of fun as I’ve been able to combine my love of running, cheering people on, and being outside into one activity.
Tell us about some of your hobbies, and about your family.
I’m choosing to answer the question: What hobbies do you enjoy with your family/friends? I do have a couple of friends who I run with, but my favorite thing to do with both my family and friends is absolutely nothing. Life is often moving at a fairly fast pace, so I enjoy those moments in the midst of the busyness when you can just sit together, enjoying a good conversation or catching up.
Who is the famous person you’re most likely to be mistaken for?
It’s funny: I get mistaken for someone else probably, on average, once a week. I don’t know what it is, but people consistently think I’m someone they know. It ranges from, “You look really familiar, do I know you from somewhere?” to, “Hey Linda, how’s it going? It looks like you’re up and around much quicker than you thought, huh?” It’s hilarious. One time in the span of 15 minutes, two unrelated interactions happened where people thought I was someone else.
