Jean Ballance
How long have you been working at Bethany, and what is it that you do here?
I started working at Bethany in April 2009 as the Associate Director of Children’s Ministry. While we search for a new Children’s Pastor I have stepped into the Interim Children’s Ministry Director position and plan to go back as an Associate once the Children’s Pastor is hired.
What relevant education or work experience has prepared you for your position?
Elementary teaching degree, early childhood degree, music degree from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, MI and lots of children’s ministry volunteering (which included lots of jumping up and down, waving of the arms and singing loudly).
What activities are you involved with outside of BCC?
Activities would include my kids. Between cooking, busing and their activities, these are the activities in which I am actively active. 
Tell us about other hobbies, and about your family.
Our family transplanted to the Seattle area from MI in 2008 for my husband to attend Mars Hill Graduate School. We have the most amazing kids ever, Sam and Alina and one fish, Max. I love to hike, bake, read, cook, talk, laugh (is that a hobby?), listen to music, spend time with the fam and explore the green state of Washington.
What famous person are you most likely to be mistaken for?
hmmm….I’ve never been mistaken for anyone famous except my daughter. I’m told we look a lot of like and she’s the most famous person in her kindergarten class.
