Worship and the Arts

Worship at Bethany is more than the music in the Sunday services. It encompasses music, visual arts, drama, dance, and even audio/visual components. If you are interested in becoming part of the Worship Ministry’s creative team, please contact Eric.

If you’re interested in trying out as a musician or vocalist, our next quarterly try-out date is Saturday, August 21, at 9am in the Sanctuary. Please fill out the application and return it to Eric by Wednesday, August 18.

Two large parts of the Worship Ministry at Bethany are our choirs and Bethany Arts College. For information on choirs, please contact Pat Collins, or visit the Choir page.

Bethany Arts College is an annual series of classes relating to arts and culture. BAC classes typically run from February through March, and cover a wide range of topics–everything from cartoon drawing and fly fishing to folk dancing and memoir writing. Church members teach all classes, which are free or almost free, and are open to the public. The purpose of BAC is to build community and enable participants to experience new dimensions of faith, through the exploration of art and culture. We’ll be recruiting teachers for BAC classes this fall, so email Eric if you have a class you’d like to teach!
