Exploring Engagement: “Are you the one?” is an 8 week course designed to help you learn more about yourself and your partner as you consider engagement and marriage. Get a sense of your future together and if you’re ready to take the next step of engagement and potentially enter the covenant of marriage. The goal of the course is that you and your partner will explore your relationship with honesty and transparency, and thus be able to make an educated, Biblically based decision about a partner.

The Engagement Class consists of 8 group sessions and 2 individual sessions with the marrying pastor. We’ll cover some of the core issues facing couples as they consider and approach engagement and marriage. Topics like finances, sex, and in-laws are explored, but more importantly a culture of conversation and commitment is nurtured and encouraged. For your individual sessions you will be asked to fill out a “Family History” questionnaire and to take the on-line “Prepare/Enrich” couple survey which costs $30 per couple. This will allow us to maximize this time together. The goal of the course is that you and your partner will feel more prepared to enter the covenant of marriage and that you’ll be surrounded by a community of others who will share that journey with you. Premarital counseling is required for weddings performed by Bethany pastors or in Bethany facilities. You also have the option of arranging for premarital counseling outside of this class instead.
