Membership
Membership at Bethany is open to any follower of Jesus Christ who has attended the church for at least six months, is in agreement with our membership covenant, statement of faith, and is in the process of connecting personally with the Bethany family and its ministries. Bethany Community Church’s mission statement is: “Inviting people to God, to community, and to wholeness.” If that is a mission you feel God would have you embrace, then we encourage you to become a member.
Membership is not required to participate or attend Bethany. If you choose to serve as a volunteer within a ministry, all we ask is that you are able to clearly articulate your faith in Jesus Christ before taking on that role. Membership is foremost a Covenant Pledge to the body of Jesus Christ. Secondly, it allows you to vote on congregational issues, be a primary ministry leader, and join the Church Council. People interested in joining are encouraged to take the next Bethany Foundations class as a way to understand more about Bethany and connect with a member sponsor who introduces them to the church, answers their questions, and helps them find their way into the life of the church. During the fourth session you will be introduced to membership at Bethany. If you choose to pursue membership, you are invited to attend an informal gathering the following week with membership sponsors who will assist you in completing the membership application process.
