Women

The purpose of Women’s Ministry at Bethany is to provide opportunities for all women to connect, be inspired, and grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ.

  • A place for women to connect with God: We hope to bring God’s peace, purpose, and perspective to the busy women of today. Knowing God’s Word is necessary because Scripture is our final authority and reveals God’s truth. Studies will be offered encouraging you to examine God’s Word for yourselves, and participate in open and free flowing discussions with other women. (Prov 27:17, 1 Thess 5:21, 1 Jn 4:1)
  • A place for women to connect with each other: Just as God is a God of relationship, He designed us to desire fellowship with Him and with each other. Our sessions are designed with a built-in time to gather, meet other women of Bethany, share ideas, thoughts, feelings, and experiences. We want to extend the transforming presence of Jesus Christ to women in all seasons of life.
  • A place for women to connect with community:Do you want to get to know the women you worship with? Do you want to participate in our family of believers? As you meet God and hear His revelations, and as you meet other women and hear their stories, we believe you will be inspired to participate in His work.

Bible Studies:

The Hem of His Garment
Monday Evenings
Have you had an emotionally painful experience in your past?  Have you thought that time would heal the wounds, but somehow the pain keeps emerging in your life?  The pain and torment of the past can hold one captive in a prison of helplessness and the more we try to ignore or stuff those feelings the more they manifest themselves in other areas of our lives.  God’s Word is sufficient to heal the wounds of the brokenhearted who have experienced abortion, addictions, abuse, and many other issues that can continue to cause pain in our lives.  This Bible study is aimed at helping you find that healing that can only come from the Lord and His Word and Its power in your life. The Hem of His Garment is a Bible study that is for women of any age who have experienced any kind of emotional trauma in the past, and seek healing through the powerful work of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Vicki McClurg will facilitate the study and those who participate may expect complete confidentiality. Contact: Vicki McClurg

Prayers and Squares (Prayer Quilt Ministry) Work Day

Prayers and Squares is an outreach ministry that combines the gift of a hand-tied quilt with the gift of prayer for someone in need. The essence of this ministry is in the prayers offered for the recipient. As each knot is tied through the quilt layers, a silent prayer is offered for someone in special need–someone who has asked us to pray for them. These comforters are a statement of faith and a testimony to our belief in God and in the power of prayer.

Infertility Group

Every Other Thursday, 7-9pm

This small group is for women experiencing challenges related to infertility.  We focus on prayer, sharing, and Bible study.  Everything shared in the group remains confidential.  We meet every other Thursday from 7-9pm.

One member writes, “Infertility is a deeply personal issue, and often times the feelings I am working through are difficult for my husband to fully grasp and relate to.  It has been a blessing to have women who understand where I am coming from.  For me, our small group is a safe place where I can be real with my feelings and lift others up in prayer.”
