Children’s Ministry
Thank you for your interest in joining the Bethany Children’s Ministry Team! Children’s Ministry is an integral part of the total church program at Bethany. It is a cooperative effort between the home and church to invite the children of our community into God’s story. We have many volunteer opportunities on Sunday and during the week:
Sunday Services
Providing a familiar, consistent and comforting atmosphere for the children as well as their parents is a high priority for us. Our preference is to have volunteers help out on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
Sunday Greeter
We are seeking friendly and outgoing volunteers to welcome parents and assist with check-in before each service.
Nursery
If you enjoy caring for and nurturing newborns and infants up to 17 months old, this is the place for you. We provide a friendly, safe, and comfortable atmosphere so that parents can feel confident leaving their children with us during the services. Volunteer positions are available at the 9am, 11am and 5pm services.
Early Childhood
Toddlers and Preschool children love to play, learn and make crafts. We provide age appropriate curriculum, called First Look, which helps children understand the Bible and learn about Jesus. Lead Teacher and Teacher Assistant positions are available at the 9am and 11am services.
Elementary
Use your unique gifts to shape the next generation by leading music or a small group using a Biblical-based curriculum for Kindergarten through 6th grade children. Leading elementary-aged children is a great opportunity to provide encouragement, support, and a place where they can share what is going on in their lives in a safe and caring environment. Small group leader, music leader, and greeter positions are available at the 9am and 11am services.
5pm Service
The evening service offers a children’s class for ages four to eight years old. The same curriculum is used as the morning elementary group, but scaled back as it is a smaller class during the evening.
Mid-Week
Caregiver for MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers)
This is a great way to minister to mothers with young children, providing them with an opportunity to connect with other moms. You will be caring for children ages 0-5 years old. We would prefer for you to commit to a regular schedule (1st & 3rd or 2nd & 4th of each month) as this creates a familiar and comfortable atmosphere for the children.
Monday evenings, 6:45-9:15pm, Every other Monday
Tuesday mornings, 9:15-11:45am, 1st & 3rd or 2nd & 4th of each month

Behind the Scenes
Classrooms
Our classrooms are used on an almost daily basis, which means they frequently need the touch of an organizer and thorough cleaner. Frequency and hours are very flexible to best meet your schedule.

Curriculum Bins
Every week we provide each class/teacher a specified bin with his/her curriculum and supplies. Materials will be ready on Thursday and bins take about an hour total to put together.
