Recommended Gear List

Snow Lake Dayhike – Saturday, July 11th

Required Equipment:

  • Hiking boots (not tennis shoes – there may still be snow on the trail)
  • Daypack
  • Non-cotton, layered clothes
  • Extra warm clothes
  • Rain shell (both jacket and bottom)
  • Snack food (Cliff Bars, granola bars, chocolate bars, fruit, jerky, etc)
  • Lunch
  • Water
  • Compass
  • Sun screen
  • Sun hat (wide brim or a baseball cap)
  • Warm hat (like a stocking cap)
  • Warm gloves

Recommended Equipment:

  • Gaiters
  • Collapsible trekking poles or ski poles (this will help you out substantially)
  • Lip balm with sunscreen mixed in
  • Camera
  • Sit pad for rest stops and lunch

Trail Work Party – Saturday, July 11th

Required Equipment:

  • Long pants
  • Long sleeve shirt
  • Hiking boots (WTA requires boots)
  • Work gloves
  • Lunch
  • Snack foods
  • Water
  • Day pack for gear and food

Recommended Equipment:

  • Rain gear/warm clothes depending on the day
  • Sun screen
  • Safety glasses or wraparound sun glasses

Whidbey Island Day Hikes – July 20th

Required Equipment:

  • Daypack
  • Extra clothes
  • Rain gear
  • Snack food  (Cliff Bars, granola bars, chocolate bars, fruit, jerky, etc)
  • Lunch
  • Water
  • Extra water
  • Sun screen
  • Sun glasses

  • First aid kit
  • Camera

Rafting White Salmon River – August 15-16

Required Equipment:

  • Swim Suit or Shorts (to be worn under wetsuit)
  • Light rain jacket or wind breaker
  • Fleece or wool sweater
  • Change of clothes (to be left in the car for after the trip)
  • Towel
  • Water
  • Snack food (Cliff Bars, granola bars, chocolate bars, fruit, jerky, etc)
  • Sun screen
  • Sun hat (wide brim or a baseball cap)
  • Warm clothes
  • Sleeping bag
  • Sleeping pad
  • Flashlight
  • Bible, notebook, pen
  • Insulated mug
  • Spoon
  • Sack lunch for Saturday
  • Money for lunch on Sunday
  • Any medications you may need

Note: Please do not wear any cotton clothing (sweatshirts, jeans, etc.). Unlike wool and polypropylene, cotton will not keep you warm when it gets wet.
