The Giving Tree is here, and it looks a bit different this year. You can find the Giving Tree in the CE foyer from Nov. 24-Dec. 8 with both gift tags for children's Christmas wishes and volunteer opportunity tags to connect on a face to face level. Don't miss this chance to bless local families and practice the spirit of Christmas in generosity of time and money. Learn about volunteering. Contact Jillian Leavitt
Come enjoy Christmas music from many different musicians at Bethany: Choirs, various worship leaders, and Bethany Brass. We've added a performance this year, so there'll be room for everyone. Bring a friend! It's a great way to share the amazing news of Christ in a non-threatening way. Childcare available for newborn through 35 months.Contact Pat Collins
We regret to announce that long-time Bethany Pastor, John W. McCullough (“PJ”), went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 in the presence of his loving wife and family members at his home in Murrieta, CA. PJ began his ministry to Bethany on Easter Sunday,1957 and served God faithfully at this local expression of Christ’s church for the following 37 years. Pastor John made an indelible impression on thousands of college students and families during his tenure at Bethany. He stewarded Bethany’s growth, its move from Ballard to its present Green Lake location, and the acquisition of additional properties including its Christian Education center. He taught and embodied a Gospel of truth and grace under the motto, “In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things charity." PJ shepherded a community where people learned to truly“ tangle their heartstrings together.”A memorial service honoring Pastor John will be held on Dec. 17 at 1pm at Gateway Church of the Nazarene (Murrieta, CA). A memorial service will follow at Bethany Community Church at 2pm on January 11. In lieu of sending flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a local charity, international project, or the Wounded Warriors Project.
For those of us who are struggling with sadness due to difficulty or loss, and for whom the holidays hold little joy, we’re invited to come and spend time acknowledging our grief and the comfort that God’s presence offers us. Contact Nancy Eckardt
Different than our Sunday services, Sing is an extended time of worship through singing, prayer and hearing God's word. It's a "come as you are" service led by a full band in a more relaxed format. All are welcome.Contact Eric Henderson
