Prayer

We recognize prayer as a transforming relationship with God, offering opportunities to engage in creative, life-giving dialog that will enrich, enfold, and support God’s kingdom at Bethany and around the world.  Ways to get involved in prayer at Bethany are listed below:

Personal Prayer
Every Sunday, prayer team members are available after each service (identified by orange and black lanyards) to pray for you, a concern you have for others, or to join you in giving thanks for God’s blessing to you.

You may also share prayer requests with our prayer chain by emailing  Nancy Repenning. Pastors can be reached during the week for prayer by calling the church office at 206.524.9000.

Healing Prayer
The body of Bethany Community Church, through the Prayer Team, practices prayer for the sick in accordance with James 5:14-16.  While not always granted (2 Cor. 12:7-10), we believe in God’s divine ability to heal physical sickness.

Prayer Meetings
First and Third Tuesdays | 7-8:30pm | Green Lake Campus
At each meeting, we learn about a Bethany ministry and pray specifically for them. In addition, we pray for other Bethany ministries, prayer chain requests, and needs in our community and world.

Prayers and Squares – The Prayer Quilt Ministry
Sometimes it’s hard to remember others are praying for you when you are struggling through difficult times.  The idea behind a Prayer Quilt is simple, yet powerful. As each knot is tied by hundreds of different people, a silent prayer is offered for someone in special need – someone who has asked us to pray for them. The quilt is then given to that person.  What makes each quilt so special is not the pattern, color, or workmanship, but the fact that prayer is tied into each one. These comforters are a statement of faith and a testimony to our belief in God and in the power of prayer.

Want to be involved?  You can join us by creating quilts on work days, donating cotton fabric, quilt batting, or JoAnn Fabrics gift cards, helping with non-sewing jobs like cutting fabrics or inserting the ties, and/or praying and tying a knot when the quilts are presented to the congregation.
