One of the ways we seek to foster a culture of care at Bethany is by ministering to church family members in practical ways. When a person's already established community of family, friends, small group, or ministry team is unable to fulfill a particular care need, Deacon Ministries is prepared to stand in the gap. We have identified four areas of concern in which we desire to minister proactively in intentional and specific ways:
• Material Assistance (monetary help, budget planning and management)
• Practical Helps (work projects, transportation, meal support, childcare)
• Care Visitation (hospitalization and rehab, shut-ins, widows, and single moms)
• Crisis Support (bereavement, unemployment, extended or terminal illness)
If you have need in one of these areas, we invite you to contact us—we will meet with you, assess your particular concern together, and come alongside you to minister in whatever way may be most helpful. If we're unable to serve you appropriately and effectively, we'll seek to refer you to someone who can. Contact Don Riggs, Pastor of Care.
Serve with Deacon Ministries
Because Deacon Ministries is an emerging ministry at Bethany, we're in the process of building a network of volunteer care teams to join us. If you have a compassionate heart and love to serve others in practical ways, we would like to talk with you. Sign up.
