As the presence of Christ in the Green Lake and Seattle area communities, we seek to develop leaders, engage our community, support grass-roots ministries, encourage an intergenerational community, worship God through a variety of expressions, and engage our membership in community, learning, and serving. Our senior pastor is Richard Dahlstrom.

Absolutely, Nathan. Thankyou for asking. Bethany’s contributions are going to the “Haiti Relief and Long-Term Support Fund” (http://donate.worldvision.org/OA_HTML/xxwv2ibeCCtpItmDspRte.jsp?section=10820&item=1959490).

We chose World Vision because of their reputation, fiscal accountability, and 30-year presence in Haiti. We selected this particular World Vision fund because we wanted to balance emergency relief with longer-term solutions, and also because of the existence of the 3:1 match of our dollars. The matching grant was already in place prior to the earthquake and was underwritten by a federal agency (US-AID) to stimulate private investment in housing, food (agricultural development), and clean water – all of which have become more pressing needs following recent destruction.

Is there any additional information on the grant source? For how long is the matching grant open?
