Ministry of Racial Justice & Reconciliation Pilgrimage - Neighborhood Walk

Seattle to Bainbridge Island: Japanese Exclusion Memorial Pilgrimage
Sunday, July 19 | 2:00pm | Colman Dock

Join us for a pilgrimage to the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial, where we will remember the history of World War II Japanese American incarceration and honor the enduring resilience, presence, and contributions of Japanese and Japanese American people in our region. Together, we will reflect, learn, and deepen our commitment to racial justice and reconciliation.

These pilgrimages, hosted by the Ministry of Racial Justice and Reconciliation, are experiences that expand our understanding of our neighborhoods through the story and perspective of indigenous and marginalized communities. We want to see God’s work of justice and reconciliation right where we are. Each pilgrimage includes personal preparation prompts before the trip and reflection prompts afterward as a way of setting intention around the experience.

Adults and children (age dependent on the trip) are welcome! Pilgrimages in parks and neighborhoods include using paved and unpaved paths, up to 3 miles depending on the location.
